Partners of the STUDICODE project
The STUDICODE consortium comprises four partners from the sectors of higher education and training located in Germany and South-Eastern Europe. Below, please find the profile of each partner and learn about their teaching and training activities.
Being one of Europe’s top universities, TUM is committed to excellence in research and teaching, interdisciplinary education and support of young scientists. Klinikum rechts der Isar is a top university hospital and part of TUM (TUM MED). TUM MED has approximately 5.500 staff and serves about 60.000 inpatients as well as 250.000 outpatients per year. TUM MED has 30 departments, 20 interdisciplinary centres which provides the entire range of contemporary treatment.
At TUM MED, the Centre for Cognitive Disorders was established as one of the first Memory Clinics in Europe in 1985. The clinical and scientific activities of the centre focus on dementia diagnosis, treatment and research, and has a research record in diagnosis and genetics of dementia as well as in pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for people with dementia including carer support. Another core activity of the centre is education about dementia addressing students as well as professionals and the general public.
TUM-MED acts as the project coordinator in STUDICODE. The project team at the Centre for Cognitive Disorders draws from their experience in digital dementia training from the project “INDEED(link is external)” (Innovation for Dementia in the Danube Region, co-funded by the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme).

The Memory Centre Bratislava (MCB) is a national leader in the field of care and treatment of people with dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment. It provides prevention, diagnosis, social support and education for people with dementia and family carers. The Centre regularly engages in educational activities for professionals involved in dementia care. The team has long-standing experience with activity programs and other non-pharmacological treatments in a day care center.
The Memory Centre employs 28 staff including psychiatrists, psychologists, caregivers, curative therapists, nurses, social workers, trainers of cognitive skills as well as project managers. The Centre is a certified facility in science and educational programs in the area of nonpharmacological treatment, accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the Ministry of Labour and Social Matters in Slovakia.

The Faculty of Medicine (MF) is the leading higher education institution in Slovenia in medicine and public health. It provides two master study programmes (Medicine, Dental medicine) and a doctoral programme (Biomedicine). On a national level the departments of the Faculty of Medicine are primary providers of life-long learning in clinical specialization for residents and medical professions. In addition, UL MF cooperates with several other UL Faculties in joint programs (Cognitive science, Applied statistics) and/or provides lectures at different programs at other Faculties (Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Cosmetology, Laboratory biomedicine, and Microbiology).
The Chair of Neurology at UL MF has developed high quality programmes on Dementia in various modes of teaching, delivered at several faculties and universities in Central Europe. The Chair of neurology delivers courses, workshops and other modes of teaching on dementia to pre-clinical and clinical students at the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Arts (Department of psychology) and the Faculty of education (Department of speech therapy).

“Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest (Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie „Carol Davila”, UMFCD) is the largest educational institution in health care in Romania. It is specialised in Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy as well as Nursing and represents a major contributor to the national excellence in health care education and research.
The aim of „Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, is to deliver quality education and generate knowledge, by continuously improving the teaching process through modern methods and interactive relations with students, encouraging their initiative, creativity, dialogue and active engagement. The Faculty of Medicine is a promoter of medical education in Romania, with almost 4500 students, and 1300 teaching staff.
“Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy includes a department of clinical neurosciences which is involved in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in the area of dementia. Currently, for the undergrad program, psychiatry is thought in the sixth year for a month. For the medical residency training programs in Psychiatry, Geriatrics and Neurology a two-months module on psychogeriatry is offered.
