Vespa event

We are happy to inform you that the STUDICODE team from TUM-MED participated as guests at the Erasmus+ Virtual Thematic Seminar about Meaningful Virtual Engagement for Strategic Partnerships.

The conference was hosted by NA Ireland under the direction of Paul from Orietra and Siobhán Wallace from léargas. It took place virtually via zoom. In total, seven countries were represented: Ireland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Lithuania, Finland.

The three main objectives of the conference were sharing knowledge, learn and reflect, exchange actual project experiences as well as harvesting and publishing thoughts, perspectives and lessons learned. By using three steps, participants could explore, exchange, expand and export thoughts regarding digitalization of their projects.

During the COVID-19 pandemic people had to switch their learning methods quickly into virtual formats with an accelerating use of digital technologies. Technology is an excellent tool to support the education, training and learning and holds high potential for change and improvement. Before COVID face to face (F2F) teaching was dominant and blended learning was seen as compliment to F2F. During COVID emergency remote teaching was in need. From then on online/remote lectures took place instead of F2F. The expectation after the pandemic is to reemergence of blended learning and new blends of F2F, live online and self-directed.

Thus, teachers are in special need to develop their technological knowledge. The role of the instructor evolves in this context as they are engaged in a range of activities in digital learning (6Cs):

  • Connecting with students

  • Curating content and materials

  • Creating their own resources

  • Coordinating active learning activities

  • Critiquing student work and providing feedback

  • Communicating with students

“Well-planned online learning experiences are meaningfully different from courses offered online in response to a crisis or disaster.” (Hodges, Moore, Lockee, Trust & Bond. “The Difference Between Emergency Remote Teaching an Online Learning” (Educause Review) 27 March 2020.)
