The STUDICODE consortium is proud to announce the publication of its policy recommendations. Based on the epidemiological dimension of dementia, the impact of dementia on individuals, families as well as society, dementia is underrepresented in the educational curricula of professions that need to be involved in dementia management. The STUDICODE dementia online course is considered to be a valuable complement to existing educational programs at the project partner sites. The joint multidisciplinary and transnational creation of this online course led to a highly quality result which has increased the digital competence of its creators and users.

The benefits of the STUDICODE intervention are highlighted in the Policy Recommendations. The document provides an outline of the dementia online course, results of the student evaluation, and findings regarding the improvement of digital competence in educators.

For the remaining duration of the project, the Policy Recommendations will be the major instrument to raise awareness amongst policy makers in regards to the benefits of facilitating online learning material as well as transnational cooperation in teaching at higher education and vocational education level. The document will also be presented to representatives of Ministries of Health, Social Affairs, and Education as well as to other stakeholders such as patient organisations.
The aim is to sustain the improvement of dementia education in the project countries and beyond by promoting the implementation of the course in regular curricula and to support its uptake. Thus, the Policy Recommendations will be a key instrument for the upcoming Multiplier Event.
